Tomorrow

At a personal level the last few years have provided their share of "hurdles". These have had a limiting effect on our ability to breed and exhibit, but not on our enthusiasm, determination and love for this great breed.

We look forward to the next century and further "growing" our bloodline, while also returning to the showring!

On the breeding front, we can report great successes with the "mix" of lines that we have now cemented. We continue to be amazed by "JR's" power as a sire, while recognizing the prepotence of some of our exciting younger generation, such as Gameford Crazy For You. Recently we have introduced stock from the very well bred Top Characters White Christmas (Japan), & Aust Ch Quantos Tutto Amoroso (Imp UK)and are excited about the possibilities of these blends.

Several youngsters have kept the flag flying in the showring, and there are a number soon to make their debut. JR's son, our own Aust Ch Gameford Cats, is an outstanding example of the last 15 years of effort. We are very proud of this boy. Also JR'S Grandson Aust Grand Ch Gameford Stars In Th Sky who started his real show career when he was about 3 1/2 years old and gained his Grand Championship in approx 18 months and he also won many Best In Show All Breeds and was retired from the show ring in January, 2010 at the age of 8 years old and he is now being used at stud and already has progeny in the show ring that have already been awarded challenges. His son was awarded his first Challenge on his 6 month birthday and his daughter was awarded Reserve Challenge on the same day. So it appears that his son & daughter may take Star place in the winning show ring.

Gameford and its owners have developed a fine tradition of achievements over the years, all of which do not simply relate to breeding or showring successes. These include:

Working with the University of Sydney to assist them in learning more about liver shunt.

Since 1986, supporting the New South Wales Judges Training scheme by giving the lecture and providing material on the Maltese Breed.

Promoting the Maltese to the general public both here and abroad, though lectures and interviews (including one exciting guest interview on "Good Morning Hong Kong"!).

Of course, we have also enjoyed breeding many champions and exhibiting numberous Best inb Show winners, as well as judging both locally and abroad.

We look forward to many more such activities in the years ahead, but right now we would like to invite you to share some of our hopes, plans and excitement through the medium
